Flying high above the Southern Alps and into Queenstown will take your breath away.  It's quite possibly the most incredible flight you will ever have been on.

There's such a great vibe here. It's the adventure capital of the world, surrounded by spectacular mountains and scenery, has wonderful places to eat is central to some of the very best photography locations in the South Island.

Milford Sound

If you've never been to Fiordland, prepare to be speechless with the sheer beauty of it. Carved by glaciers over 100,000 years it boasts incredible

mountains and vast valleys, the scale of which is almost beyond

comprehension.  Where annual rainfall is measured in metres, rainforests hug mountains and flora and fauna are completely unique to the area.

Arrowtown is a quirky little Historic Gold Mining Town that when surrounded by snow capped mountains is a pure delight.

Wanaka - home to the famous Wanaka Tree is one of the most picturesque towns in the South Island.  It's a small township flanked by a magnificent lake and giant mountains.  It's the gateway to Mt Aspiring National Park, a wilderness of Glaciers, Beech Forests and Alpine Lakes.

The Haast Pass is a spectacular drive and at 562 metres above sea level is the lowest of the Southern passes. It's the saddle between the Makarora and Haast Rivers and is lined with Waterfalls and Beech Forests

Fox And Haast

Lake Matheson is one of the most gorgeous and reliable mirrored locations in New Zealand. Fox Glacier is known as one of the most accessible glaciers in the world. It's one of only a few that are located close to both a rainforest and an ocean.

Only 23 km down the road is Franz Josef / Waiau.  Both Glaciers are located in Westland Tai Poutini National Park

In the depths of winter Twizel is spectacular.  It often has a hoar frost and turns the landscape into something quite magical Twizel is a very central location  with mountains, lakes and rivers and of course those famous canals.

Aoraki / Mt Cook

Aoraki/Mt Cook is the highest mountain in New Zealand at 3724 metres but Mt Cook National Park has 19 peaks over 3000 metres in total.

Be prepared to see the incredible water colour of Lake Pukaki.  The glacial feed to the lake gives it a stunning powder blue colour which is created by glacial flour, the extremely fine ground rock particles from the glaciers.

The walk into Hooker Lake takes you over three very safe swing bridges, perfect for photography.

Lake Wakatipu

Cromwell is home to the famous Cromnut (we'll preorder as you don't want to miss out on trying one of these). The Gibbston Valley boasts many wonderful wineries. We can stop here if you want to stock up.

Lake Wakatipu is the third largest lake in New Zealand and at 84 km long, it’s also the longest. It's name comes from Maori, Whakatipu wai-māori, which could mean “growing bay” or “bay of spirits”, depending on the translation of the historic Southern dialect.
